Humbled! That’s the best way to describe how Placer Land Trust staff and board members feel after the outpouring of support this Big Day of Giving. Our members, both new and longtime supporters, gave over $178,000 to show our region how much protected natural and agricultural land means to them. We can’t wait to put these investments to work and share the news of new preserves with you in the near future!
In addition, we are so inspired by the philanthropic spirit of the Greater Sacramento area who lifted up more than 600 nonprofits that help our region thrive. They gave over $12 million, smashing last year’s record of $8.4 million. We think all nonprofits were a little unsure of what to expect holding a large-scale fundraiser in the middle of a pandemic. But the results speak for themselves — our community is resilient and generous, and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it!
BDOG 2020 by the numbers…
- Over $175,000 raised for Placer Land Trust
- We received 410 donations from 382 donors (some gave multiple gifts)
- All of our individual fundraising pages exceeded their goals, and our Board’s fundraising page earned an additional cash prize for highest amount earned
- …plus many new members to help expand our reach and further our mission!
Thanks again to our members for making Big Day of Giving 2020 such a successful and memorable day — we are forever grateful!
