Paul Aronowitz was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He met and married his wife, Diane Lambert, in Boulder, Colorado in 1973. Paul graduated from the University of Miami in 1975, and from the University of San Francisco School of Law (Kendrick Hall) in 1978.

Paul’s law firm has been involved with Placer Land Trust for over two decades. He and his firm have acted both as legal counsel and as counsel for parties desiring to enter into agreements with Placer Land Trust.

“In my practice, I try to educate clients to the benefits of philanthropy by explaining the mutual advantages of land conservation to the client and the community,” says Paul. “Placer Land Trust offers a great opportunity to create lasting and meaningful impact through land conservation.”

Paul finds great satisfaction in partnering with Placer Land Trust to bring benefits to his clients through donating property for preservation. A number of our properties, including Bettencourt Preserve, Taylor Ranch Preserve, Liberty Ranch Preserve, were protected thanks to these collaborations.

“Seeing the final result is most gratifying,” says Paul. “These projects protect the native habitat for perpetuity, and have the added benefit of saving clients money while doing so. Another highlight is to actually get to experience some of Placer Land Trust’s treasures, such as on the guided walks through the Laursen Bear River Preserve to see the elusive California Dogface butterfly.”

Paul considers his 40+ years of practicing law in Auburn to be one continuous highlight. “I am most proud of the fact of that I have been requested to represent and advise the clients that I have over those 40+ years, and that those individuals entrusted their legal matters to me. I am extremely honored to have been selected the Conservator of the Year, and humbled to be in the same group with people like Sallysue Stein, Jim Branham & Bob Kingman, Daryl & Sue Oest, Eric & Paula Peach, Loren Clark, Mark Fowler, Joanne Neft, Alex Ferreira, Christine Turner, Andy & Shana Laursen, Joe Medeiros, Janice Forbes and Fred Yeager.”
