Date & Time: Saturday, May 4th at 8:30 am

Location: Harvego Bear River Preserve, North Auburn

Join us for a leisurely spring stroll through the magnificent oak woodlands as we seek out wildflowers on this remote preserve. Spring is gorgeous in the foothills with bright green grasses, new growth and wildflowers. The focus of this slower paced walk will be on “smelling” and admiring the beauty of the Sierra foothills vegetation. We’ll stop frequently to observe and learn a little bit about the plants and flowers in the area.

Our trained docents will lead you on this beautiful hike through our local natural wonders. Learn about the flora and fauna, take in the amazing view from Bald Rock.

Distance and difficulty: approx. 3 miles and will take approximately 3- 4 hours. It is an easy-to-moderate hike on uneven ground with some rough terrain and an elevation gain of around 700 ft.

Who should attend: People who can hike at a slow to moderate pace. This hike is not recommended for children under 7. Sorry, no dogs are allowed unless they are service animals due to the potential conflicts with livestock and wildlife.
