6:30-7:00pm – Short program

Tickets: $85 for Placer Land Trust members, $100 for general public
Tickets include appetizers and two drink tickets for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Additional drinks can be purchased at the bar. Space is limited so get your tickets today!
Attire: Business Casual is the fast answer, but you’ll see all styles so come in what makes you feel happy. Please note that the event is indoors/outdoors, so dress in what’s comfortable for the weather.
Tickets: We do not send out physical tickets for the event. You will check in upon arrival to confirm attendance and receive your nametag.
Are food and drinks included?
Appetizers will be available at a buffet table indoors. Each guest will receive two drink tickets at check-in for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You can purchase additional drinks at the bar.

There is nothing to buy at the event, but donations are appreciated. We can accept cash, checks and all credit cards for donations. If you choose to purchase additional drinks, you can do so at the restaurant bar with credit cards or cash.
Can I bid on auction items at the event? We will have some auction items at the event for you to preview. All bidding takes place online, and you can bid from your phone at the event if you like. You may view all items and bid here.
Placer Land Trust is thrilled to be presenting the 2024 Placer Conservator Award to Steve Frisch. Steve is the president of the nonprofit Sierra Business Council (SBC) and one of its founding members. Under Steve’s leadership, SBC promotes the “triple bottom line” of sustainable economic, environmental and social prosperity, using principles of business to solve difficult social and environmental problems.
SBC has supported the protection of more than 40,000 acres of working farms, ranches, and forests in Placer County and throughout the Sierra—impressive! Through SBC, Steve helped to initiate the creation of Placer County’s Placer Legacy Open Space and Agricultural Preservation Program. Steve also worked with a group of advocacy organizations to lead the legislative effort that led to the creation of the Sierra Nevada Conservancy in 2004. He helped instigate the Sierra Consortium which advocates for public investment into Sierra conservation work, and he has played a key role in helping to get significant State bond funds allocated to the Sierra region. Through these partnerships, thousands of acres of land in Placer County has been permanently protected, including several properties through Placer Land Trust. Steve has also served as an advisor, Board or committee member for several regional and statewide efforts such as the Northern Sierra Partnership, California Stewardship Network, Alliance of Regional Collaboratives for Climate Adaptation, the California Wildfire Resilience and Forest Management Task Force, and the National Geographic Geo-Tourism Council.
Prior to coming to Sierra Business Council, Steve was a small business owner for more than 10 years, and is a graduate of San Francisco State University. When he’s not working hard for the betterment of his region, Steve enjoys traveling the back roads of the Sierra, connecting to local history, camping, and cooking. Steve and his wife Lisa call Truckee home.
Keith L. McLane, BAS, is one of the country’s preeminent fundraising auctioneers, special appeal/fund-a-need experts, and event-based fundraising educators. Since 1995, he has specialized in organizing and conducting charity and fundraising auctions for schools, charitable organizations, and nonprofit groups from Honolulu to New York City. Never the shy one, Keith has become well-known for his fun and entertaining auctioneering style that frequently takes him out from behind the podium and deep into the audience! Keith holds an MBA from The UCLA Anderson School of Management and is a graduate of the world-famous Missouri Auction School, which Newsweek magazine dubs “The Harvard of Auctioneering.” He is also one of only a small number of auctioneers in the country–and only 20 auctioneers in California–to have achieved the National Auctioneers Association’s prestigious Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS) designation.
