Brandy is a Northern California native who grew up exploring the foothills near Oroville and Forbestown. Her love for the outdoors, inspired by early family camping, hunting, and hiking trips, has been a lifelong passion.

After high school, Brandy attended UCSB on a softball scholarship before transferring to UC Davis, where she earned her degree and commissioned as an officer through the Army ROTC program. She served as a Military Police Officer for four years before transitioning into project management, focusing on long-haul IT-construction projects in Oklahoma while pursuing her law degree in the evenings.

In the wake of 9/11, Brandy felt called to return to public service, becoming a police officer in Virginia. After three years in law enforcement, she completed her law degree at the University of Richmond, School of Law, and practiced at a small law firm.

Driven by her deep connection to Northern California, Brandy eventually returned home to raise her four children and care for several dogs, including foster pups, while working for LexisNexis. Her desire to contribute meaningfully to her community led her to Placer Land Trust, where she now serves as Assistant Director. In this role, she leverages her legal expertise, project management experience, and passion for community engagement to help ensure the sustainable stewardship of Placer Land Trust’s resources.

“I was so fortunate to have spaces to explore as a child; it shaped everything about me as an adult.  I don’t want it to become something of the past and that includes our agricultural lands as well.  My children and the future generations need to have the same opportunities and feel the same boundarylessness.  To be able to be a part of something so big and consequential in PLT is absolutely a dream come true.”
