WHAT is Big Day of Giving (BDOG)?
BDOG is a giving challenge that inspires the community to support the hundreds of nonprofits that make the greater Sacramento region an amazing place to call home. This will be the fifth year that Placer Land Trust (PLT) has participated, and we are proud to share that our members have helped us raise over $477,000 in the first four years!
WHEN is it?
- The “Big Day” takes place all day on Thursday, May 3, from midnight to midnight. However, you can pre-schedule your gift starting April 18 so you can “set it and forget it” (your credit card won’t be charged until May 3).
WHY should I donate during the Big Day of Giving?
- A group of generous Placer Land Trust members have come together to build a matching fund for the Big Day of Giving. This means that your donation will be DOUBLED through May 3 (for as long as matching funds are available)!
- If you are a first-time donor (a NEW MEMBER) to PLT, then your gift may be TRIPLED, thanks to another match from Emigrant Trails Greenway Trust. They have donated $25,000 to match donations from ALL NEW MEMBERS (while funds last). So your donation makes an even bigger impact on the Big Day of Giving!
WHAT methods of payment are accepted?
- Donate at: bigdayofgiving.org/placerlandtrust. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted for online gifts. You may also give by check directly to Placer Land Trust (these gifts must be received by 5pm on May 3). Mail to: 11641 Blocker Drive, Suite 220, Auburn, CA 95603.
HOW can I maximize my impact?
- SHARE your support of PLT! Tell a neighbor, forward our e-newsletters, share our social media posts—there are so many ways to help spread the word. Find us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter@placerlandtrust, and SPREAD THE WORD!
