Come experience fun outdoor games with Colfax High School Environmental Club, and enjoy a unique opportunity to work with Auburn State Recreation Area (ASRA) Rangers on a variety of games and challenges!

Join us for a rambling hike to see early buds emerge in the foothills and learn about the Oak Savanah prevalent in the Sierra foothills.

Join for the Great Backyard Bird count, an Audubon/Cornell Lab global event! We will spend out time looking and listening for year-round residents and migrating songbirds. We’ll practice basic birding identification skills and will get to know the common residents of the diverse habitat of this beautiful preserve. 

Canyon View Preserve has surprising biodiversity for its size – including fascinating night-time insects that glow in the dark under UV light!

Come out and enjoy the Laursen Bear River Preserve! With a wide-open meadow close to the parking area, it’s the perfect spot to fly a kite and a great way to celebrate National Kite Flying Day!
