Christine Pieper’s love of land conservation has deep roots. Christine was born on a dairy and grain farm in Maryland, which her parents permanently protected with an agricultural conservation easement when she was in high school. When she began her career in nonprofit fundraising, she was drawn to environmental causes. Christine previously worked with the American Farmland Trust and the Potomac Conservancy, among others.
When Christine and her husband, Denny, moved to Placer County in 2014, they quickly began searching for local organizations to get involved with. She immediately gravitated toward Placer Land Trust! Christine and Denny became members, and she served as a volunteer—largely sharing her fundraising experience and skills with PLT.
When not working, volunteering, or doing their best to keep up restoration efforts of their 5 acres of oak woodlands in Auburn, Christine and Denny enjoy cooking and eating Indian food, and hiking with their dog Baloo along the American River or wherever the wildflowers are blooming.
“I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the Placer Land Trust management team and some of the board members over the past few years. I value PLT’s mission and goals, and I’m eager to apply my skills and experience to advance this worthy organization.”
