Founder, Cali Trail Seekers

Founded on July 10, 2020, Cali Trail Seekers began as a simple idea during uncertain times: to get people moving, reconnecting with nature, and building genuine friendships outdoors. What started with a few curious hikers has grown into a vibrant and diverse community of individuals committed to health, connection, and the healing power of the trail.

Our mission has always been about more than hiking. It’s about creating space especially for those new to the area or new to outdoor activity to feel safe, inspired, and grounded. Over the past five years, we’ve hosted dozens of hikes throughout Northern California, fostering not only personal wellness but a shared sense of purpose and belonging.

In 2022, I met Eden Rock, the Community Engagement Manager at Placer Land Trust, and something clicked instantly. The work of Placer Land Trust preserving the natural beauty of Placer County for future generations deeply aligned with the values of Cali Trail Seekers. Since then, our collaboration has offered our group access to exclusive private preserves, creating unforgettable experiences for our hikers and deepening their connection to land and stewardship.

One of our most memorable outings was a Full Moon Hike across Placer Land Trust lands — a night filled with awe, reflection, and a renewed appreciation for our protected spaces. These moments are transformative. They allow our hikers not just to walk through nature, but to witness it in its most untouched, sacred form.

A few months ago, I took this partnership a step further by becoming a docent with Placer Land Trust — a role I’m honored to hold. It allows me to give back by guiding others into these hidden landscapes and sharing the story behind their protection. In 2026, I look forward to leading more hikes that introduce new communities to the magic of conservation and the power of walking together.

We’re proud to walk alongside Placer Land Trust in this work protecting land, cultivating connection, and building something bigger than any one trail.

Thank you, Kemi, for sharing your story! We’re looking forward to more good times outdoors with Cali Trail Seekers!
