8:30am-12:30pm
Location: Big Hill Preserves, North Auburn
This special Open Preserve Day is for Placer Land Trust members to come out and enjoy our Big Hill Preserves on your own! These preserves protect critical unfragmented oak woodlands in the Raccoon Creek and Bear River watersheds, and are part of one of the last relatively “wild” areas in western Placer County. The trails on these preserves meander past spectacular rock formations, the beautiful Raccoon Creek, and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Sacramento Valley.
Some of the activities you might choose include:
- Enjoy a leisurely nature walk
- Go on a trail run
- Nature photography
- Have a picnic – down by the creek or up on a viewpoint
- Do yoga or meditate by the creek, under a tree, or at a viewpoint
- Get creative! Please plan your day accordingly so that you are back to the parking area by 12:30pm.
At registration, you’ll be asked to provide the cell phone number of the phone you will have with you that day.
All participants must sign a release of liability available here: Liability Waiver
You must bring the completed waiver with you. One form per household. Parent signature is required for children under 18.
This event is open to current Placer Land Trust members. A donation of any amount makes you a member for a year — click here to join today!
