Join Placer Land Trust for a river cleanup day!
Date/Time: Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
Location: Clementine Beach Preserve (learn more about the preserve here.)
The Great Sierra River Cleanup Day is back! It’s part of the largest volunteer event in California! The effort focuses on cleaning up Sierra watersheds, which produce 60% of California’s water supply. Come out and be a part of the movement! If you would like to learn more about the impact and history of the event, visit the Sierra Nevada Alliance site here.
We are hosting our annual Cleanup Day to support the efforts! We will spend the morning picking up litter at our Clementine Beach Preserve and at the connected Upper Lake Clementine Beach area. Lunch will be provided at the end of the day! You are welcome to spend time at the public beach along the river after the cleanup, but please note that the river is very fast and cold this year.
There are limited spaces available, so if you’re interested, sign up now to reserve your spot! The activities are best suited for adults and youth ages 10 and up. Any minor must be accompanied by a supervising adult. More details, directions to the Preserve, and a list of what to bring will be emailed after registration. Check your spam folder if you do not receive the email within 15 minutes of registering.
Participants must print and bring two signed releases of liability to the event: one from Placer Land Trust (here), and one from the event organizers, which will be sent to you before the event.
Thank you to the Auburn State Recreation Area for their help in coordinating this event!
