June is the blooming period for wavy-leafed soap plant (Chlorogalum pomeridianum). Come join us at Canyon View Preserve in Auburn to see the bloom!

Our interpretative guides will be on the trail to point out where to see the blooms. Take a a short walk from the main preserve entrance, just past the kiosk, and join the fun!

Why is this so special? Vespertine means “active during evening or twilight.” Soap plants burst into bloom during a short period around 7:00 PM throughout the month of June.

Check out this episode of Gettin’ Out With Gary for a glimpse at this fascinating phenomenon, and mark your calendar to join us for some VESPERTINE TIME at Canyon View… it’s quite a show! No registration is required, just put on your walking shoes and find us on the trail!
