Quick Facts:

  • 30 acres off Highway 193 in Newcastle
  • Protected since 1999

The Labadie family generously worked with Placer Land Trust to place an agricultural easement on this property along a riparian corridor in western Placer County.

Preserving Agricultural Land

A Placer Land Trust easement protects the 30-acre Labadie Farm from development encroaching from the west. This property will remain in agricultural production forever. The Labadie family grows a variety of products on the farm (including vegetables, fruits, and flowers), rotating crops from year to year.

Protecting a “Sense of Place”

The agricultural easement prohibits development and harmful activities such as grading, dumping, and mining, while allowing the landowner to continue to use the property for sustainable agricultural use.
