Partnership
The conservation easement was donated by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to Placer Land Trust to guarantee the land is protected forever. The Conservation Easement protects the property as open space scenery, wildlife habitat, and recreation asset.
Wildlife & Scenery
The property contains portions of Kidd Lake and Cascade Lakes surrounded by higher elevation mixed conifer forests that provides habitat for a diverse range wildlife. This area is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife – from large mammals (bear, deer, coyote) to reptiles, amphibians, fish, birds and insects. The property also provides scenic value from the nearby public roadways and trails.
Recreation
The property is owned and managed by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and leased by Royal Gorge XC Ski Resort for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. PG&E also operates a group campground at Kidd Lake. Other recreation opportunities include hiking, swimming, and biking.
