Loren Clark is a multi-award winning public servant who retired from a 30-year career with Placer County. In addition to the 2016 Placer Conservator Award and the Sierra Vision Lifetime Achievement Award, Loren has also been recognized with the Auburn Public Employee of the Year Award in 2002, and was part of the team who received the Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award for the Placer Legacy Open Space and Agricultural Conservation Program.
Loren started his Planning career in Southern California, which is where he’s from. But Northern California became his new home when he attended Humboldt State University, where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Natural Resources Planning and Interpretation. He started his career with Placer County in 1986, and he began a close working relationship with Placer Land Trust since its inception. Loren is proud of the many years that Placer County and Placer Land Trust worked together to achieve our shared vision of conservation.
Despite his many professional achievements, Loren cherishes his triplet daughters as the “best thing I ever did in my life.”
“We are truly blessed to be able to live, work and play in a community such as Placer County; one of the most geographically and biologically diverse locations in the State of California. Between the deep blue of Lake Tahoe to the east to the flowering vernal pools of the grasslands to the west and the oak woodland savanna of our foothills, there is something very special about this place we call home. It is a real privilege to serve with the volunteers, staff and Board of Placer Land Trust. With our conservation partners and peers in the region, and the support of the community, we can work together to keep Placer County a special place forever.”
