This special open preserve day is for PLT members to come out and enjoy our Big Hill Preserves on your own! We will provide you with a trail map when you arrive, and from there you are free to explore the beautiful preserves at your own pace. There will be trail options for you to pick from covering 6 miles of trail. This is a rain or shine event so come prepared for the weather.

Some of the activities you might choose include:

  • Enjoy a leisurely nature walk
  • Go on a trail run
  • Nature photography
  • Have a picnic – down by the creek or with a spectacular view from the top of the hill
  • Do yoga or meditate by the creek, under a tree, or at a viewpoint
  • Get creative!  Please plan your day accordingly so that you are back to the parking area by 1:00pm.

At registration, you’ll be asked to provide the cell phone number of the phone you will have with you that day.

All participants must sign a release of liability available here: Liability Waiver

You must bring the completed waiver with you. One form per household. Parent signature is required for children under 18.

This is a free event for our PLT members; however, donations of any size are always appreciated. Donations are accepted online after you register, or we can also accept checks or cash in an envelope with your name written on the envelope.

Registration is limited and on a first come basis. The deadline to sign up is 5pm on Thursday prior to the event, or when the event is full. You may register yourself and family members by adding their name(s) on the registration form.
