Mikaela is currently a student at Placer High School and the president of the school’s Environmental Club. She is very interested in ecology and environmental studies, which she hopes to pursue in college. She also works with several other local organizations to help set up events with the PHS Environmental Club, as well as hosting the club’s own events.

“I believe that it’s extremely important that land conservation is a priority among communities and governments because of the significance it plays towards repairing the damages done by humans, allowing species diversity, and is a huge benefit to wildlife. I think it’s also really important to have a voice for the youth among committees that plan to change the world we are inheriting. I hope that I can at least try to be that voice, and not only to help speak for the youth, but also to learn about the great organizations that work together to help the planet. I feel that there is always more to be done and I want to help get that done!”
