Forest Bathing - A person's hand touching the bark of a tree.

When: Saturday, October 24th, 2026, 10 am – 12:30 pm

Join us for a guided Forest Bathing walk! Forest Bathing is a gentle, mindful wander in nature, designed to help you slow down, quiet your mind, awaken your senses, and connect with the natural world around you. It invites you to notice, listen, and simply be present.

Along the way, your guide will offer simple sensory invitations— engaging sight, sound, scent, and touch-to support a deeper sense of connection with nature. Forest Bathing offers a chance to unplug and discover the joy of being fully present in nature as we move along the trail with curiosity and attention.

Step into the forest with Susan Reed, a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). With a lifelong love of hiking and backpacking and a career dedicated to corporate health and well-being, Susan creates experiences that invite you to rediscover your relationship with nature. Her guided walks are pathways to meaningful connection, restoration, and a renewed sense of belonging in the natural world.

About Laursen Bear River Preserve

This preserve, which includes a working cattle ranch, protects critical unfragmented oak woodlands in the Bear River watershed, and is part of one of the last relatively “wild” areas in western Placer County. The preserve is comprised of 361 acres of blue oak woodland and about 1.5 miles of riparian habitat along the banks of the Bear River on the far north side. Learn more about this beautiful preserve here.

Important Note: Our Big Hill, Harvego, and Laursen Preserves, including the roads surrounding them, are not open to the public. Please help us respect the neighborhoods around these preserves by only visiting during scheduled guided activities that you are registered for. Trespassers will be prosecuted.
