Well, that was an incredible Big Day of Giving! Thank you to everyone who supported Placer Land Trust — we broke our own record, raising over $227,000 for land conservation in Placer County. We’re humbled by your generosity!

And that generosity was shared across the region: 886 participating nonprofits in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties raised a total of $15.4 million dollars this year. That brings the total raised by Big Day of Giving to $132 million since it first began in 2013!

One of the highlights for us about BDOG is seeing just how many other nonprofits are hard at work in our community. It might seem like an unconventional idea for us all to fundraise at the same time, but we believe that a rising tide lifts all boats — and this “one big day” approach helps smaller or newer nonprofits to get some extra visibility, too. We hope you found some new community heroes to support this year, along with your favorites!

And, as always, Placer Land Trust Staff and Board thank you again for your support and for standing with your neighbors, your friends, and your community to create lasting change where it matters most — right here at home. We can’t wait to put these investments to work, and to share more exciting new conservation wins with you soon!
