We have established these guidelines for the safety of the public, our volunteers, and our staff for guided events. Any guest not following these protocols will be asked to leave. If you are not comfortable or able to comply with the safety guidelines stated below, we respectfully ask that you do NOT sign up for the hike. Thank you for your cooperation, and happy hiking!

BEFORE SIGNING UP, ASSESS IF THIS HIKE/EVENT IS RIGHT FOR YOU:

  • Make sure the distance/length of the hike is within your abilities.
  • Parents are responsible for making sure their children follow safety guidelines.
  • You must register in advance on our website to participate. People who register and are frequent “no shows”, or who have not canceled at least 24 hours prior to an event, may be excluded from participating in future.
  • Guests are expected to show respect for other hikers and our docents by following our safety procedures.

PRIOR TO ARRIVING:

  • Review the information on your confirmation email advising you what to bring and how to prepare.
  • If you’ve had any flu-like or Covid-19 symptoms, fever or cough in the past 24 hours, please stay home and join us another time.
  • Fill out our liability waiver ahead of the event.

AT THE PRESERVE:

  • Docents will check you in at the preserve gate. You must have completed the waiver before entering the preserve.
  • We prefer donations made online at time of reservation. If you’d like to give a cash/check donation on site, please put it in a sealed envelope with your name clearly written on the outside and give it to the docent.
  • Bring sufficient drinking water. (There is no water available at the preserve.) If desired, please bring your own face covering, hand sanitizer, etc.

We love to see your photos on social media (tag us @placerlandtrust) — but please don’t geotag locations on our preserves. Thank you, and enjoy your outing!
