We are excited to announce that Keela Rodriguez was appointed as the newest member of Placer Land Trust’s Board of Directors at the December 2016 Board meeting.
Keela is a resident of Lincoln and the Branch Manager of Stewart Title in Lincoln. Realizing the community of Lincoln wasn’t being directly serviced by a title company, she opened the office in July 2014, providing the only local title and escrow service to residents and businesses in Lincoln. Before opening the Stewart Title office, she was with First American Title in Roseville for over 10 years. She brings to the Board an experience in real estate transactions which will be very beneficial to our work protecting land in Placer County.
Originally from Midland, MI, Keela was raised by her great grandmother until the age of 12, when she moved with her parents to the Bay Area. In 1992, she began attending Sierra Nevada College, a private college in the North Lake Tahoe area, focusing on business. She also went through the police academy and was a Deputy Constable in Incline Village for two years. She moved to Roseville and started her career in title and escrow in 1998.
Keela is active in her local community by serving on several committees, including the bond oversight committee with the Western Placer Unified School District. She is also a former Planning Commissioner for the City of Lincoln.
“What’s important to me is to leave a legacy behind,” explains Keela. “I don’t do it for the popularity. I was taught humility by my step-dad and to have a servant’s heart. That’s where my passion lies.”
She is married to Chris and they have a blended family with six children and one grandchild (so far). “I love being a Mom and Grandma,” said Keela. “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life and what I’m most proud of.”
Keela calls herself “a foody”, and enjoys trying new restaurants as well as wine tasting. She and her husband like to travel, hike, and they recently took three of their kids on a vacation in Cancun for Christmas. “Making memories for my kids” is something you hear Keela say when she talks about their family vacations.
“We are delighted to have Keela join our Board of Directors”, said Placer Land Trust Board President Fred Yeager. “We know her experience and connections within the community will be a direct benefit for our organization as we continue to follow our mission of preserving land for current and future generations.”
Welcome and congratulations Keela!
