WHAT is Big Day of Giving?
Big Day of Giving is THE online giving opportunity of the year that unites and inspires the community to support the hundreds of nonprofits that make the greater Sacramento region an amazing place to call home. It is unique to our region and is an important way for donors to provide operating dollars to the causes that they care most about.
WHEN is it?
The Big Day of Giving takes place all day on Thursday, May 2, from midnight to midnight. However, if you are worried you might miss it, you can give early anytime between April 18 through the Big Day of Giving.
WHY should I donate during Big Day of Giving?
Your gift to Placer Land Trust during Big Day of Giving helps to protect more agricultural lands and natural open space for future generations. Plus…
- Generous Placer Land Trust members have created a matching fund for Big Day of Giving. This means that your donation will be DOUBLED through May 2 (for as long as matching funds are available)!
- Placer Land Trust is also eligible for cash prizes during Big Day of Giving, so your donation can go further and help Placer Land Trust raise more on this day to support our mission.
- Your donation starts or extends your Placer Land Trust membership for one year. Membership covers your household, and makes you eligible for member-only events like special hikes, and discounts to events like the Placer Conservator.
What methods of payment are accepted?
- Donate at bigdayofgiving.org/placerlandtrust, or to a member’s Placer Land Trust fundraising campaign, from April 18 through May 2. (Please note — donations made on the BDOG platform prior to April 18 will not be counted toward our BDOG total for this year, so please wait until the 18th to make your gift!) All major credit cards are accepted, and gifts made through a Golden 1 Credit Union debit/credit card earn additional funds for Placer Land Trust.
- You can also give to Placer Land Trust directly via check, cash, stock, donor-advised fund, IRA charitable rollover, etc. (Click here to learn more about ways to give.) Please mail EARLY to make sure we have your gift by May 4 to count in our Big Day of Giving totals.
- ALL gifts will be doubled while our matching fund lasts!
HOW can I maximize my impact?
- SHARE your support of Placer Land Trust! Tell a neighbor, forward our e-newsletters, share our social media posts — there are so many ways to help spread the word. Find us on Facebook and Instagram @placerlandtrust, and spread the word!
- Create your own Placer Land Trust fundraising campaign! You set a goal, fill in a few blanks (with information we’ll help provide), and it creates a simple webpage for you to share via email or social media to encourage your friends and family to help you raise money for Placer Land Trust!
